Kathleen moved to Florida in 2013 after a 17-year career in New England with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery. Her life took an unexpected turn in 2018 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Kathleen worked in the Radiology Department at Cleveland Clinic and walked to her radiation treatment during her lunch break every weekday for 6 weeks. After completing her care at the Scully Welsh Cancer Center, she was so touched by the compassion and support she received that she later transitioned to join the Scully Welsh Cancer Center team herself—becoming part of the very family that helped guide her through healing.
Through an event hosted at the Cancer Center, Kathleen joined the Cancer Dancers. These women have become a true gift to her and to one another, meeting weekly to lift each other up, support one another’s journeys, and create meaningful dances to encourage others walking a similar path.
Kathleen is currently pursuing a Business Administration degree at Indian River State College and was honored to be invited to join the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is also a new Honor Flight volunteer, personally honoring veterans. She volunteers in patient simulation trainings with Cleveland Clinic to assist in the education and development of nursing staff. In addition, she serves weekly as part of the “Dream Team” at Christ Fellowship.
Her family is her rock and steadfastly supports all of her dreams. Her lifelong best friends are faithful, deeply cherished, and an endless source of love and strength.
Kathleen believes God has blessed her abundantly, and she never walks this road alone.
