Phyllis is a breast cancer survivor whose journey is marked by courage, resilience, and unwavering determination. First diagnosed in January 2021 at the age of 72, she faced her diagnosis with strength and grace. Her treatment journey included a lumpectomy followed by a left mastectomy, and later a right mastectomy in February 2025. With a strong family history of breast cancer, Phyllis met each challenge head-on, refusing to let cancer define her.
In September 2025, she completed chemotherapy, an important milestone in a long and hard-fought battle. Today, Phyllis stands as a powerful example of perseverance, hope, and the strength that comes from never giving up.
A retired registered nurse, Phyllis has spent her life caring for others, a calling that continues well into retirement. She volunteers as an usher at the Riverside Theater, giving back to her community, and finds joy and connection playing Mahjong.
Her story is one of survival, service, and celebrating life, proof that even in the face of immense challenges, the human spirit can rise, endure, and thrive.
